Join us on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Town pool to kick off the start of FREE bus service this summer from the Warwick area to the Old Town pool.

Splash with DASH Press Release

AAA is pleased to participate in the announcement of free bus service this summer between the neighborhoods around the closed Warwick pool to the open Old Town pool. We have worked with the City and the DASH Bus System to make this happen. A number of local businesses and organizations have been kind enough to sponsor the free service. Pool fees still apply. $2/Youth. $3/Adult.

The kick-off event will be on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Town pool. The Mayor will be announcing the program and we will have a DASH bus there to highlight the free bus service. While we focused on kids riding free to get to the pool, anyone can ride the AT10 bus route (north/south) for free between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This will benefit the residents of the affected communities.

This also marks a significant step forward with our participation in USA Swimming’s ‘Make a Splash’ program. We are partnering with the City and the Potomac Marlins to teach kids in Alexandria how to swim, with a particular emphasis on teaching swimming to minority children.

Please join us at the event!
